Announcement! Classes will be held this year in the Sacramento Area. Our new location will be at 9200 Fair Oaks Blvd, Fair Oaks, CA. on the Beautiful Campus of Meristem, the former Rudoloph Steiner Campus.

The Grassroots Herbal Program provides an introductory foundation to herbal medicine. It is a great class for those who are ready to dive into a full herbal education, and those who plan to move onto Levels 2 and 3. It is also perfect for those who may want enough information to begin improving their own health and create a foundation for their own home remedies.

This program gives the students the opportunities to connect with their bodies, their own health, the natural world, and the plants. Students will learn how to pay attention to the signals their bodies are sending and what they can do with that information. They will learn about many different herbs, how they work and when to use them. Students will become comfortable with making their own medicines. They will learn about wildcrafting, wild foods, and local medicines in the area. Plant walks are almost every weekend.

This class is primarily based in western herbalism, however Ayurvedic energetics are used.

This is a prerequisite for Level 2 Community Herbalism.

The Grassroots class is a less-intensive course. Homework is not required (but suggested and too fun to skip out on!) and there are no quizzes or testing. The class is approximately 50% hands on, as we spend time each weekend, if possible, out in the field and medicine making.

This class is held in the spring, during a beautiful time in our area when the flowers are blooming. It is a special treat to learn and grow at this time of year!

This course begins on March 23 and will be held in the Sacramento area of Fair Oaks. It is 4 weekends, every other weekend, and is held Saturdays and Sundays 10am-5pm. See the weekend dates below.
